PALNI Digital Collections

This web page is the PRA’s Digital Library which is supported by Earlham College, Lilly Library in Richmond, Indiana.

Since we started this project, several new collections/records have been added.

There are now 20 items in the collection including:

  1. “A Recollection of Dennis Pennington” – A few pages from the recollection of Dennis Pennington, a Pennington ancestor from the early days of America.
  2. “Bertha McGeehan Collection” -  Bertha McGeehan Collection on William, Daniel, Paul, and Thomas of Moreland and New Britain, Bucks County Pennsylvania. Extracted from Philadelphia Historical Society Files, Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The documents have various dates and are handwritten.
  3. “David Pennington Will” - Will of David Pennington of Albemarle and County of Sussex. This will is a typed transcript of the original will.
  4. “Descendents of Edmund Pennington c.a. 1753-1813 Group XIV” by Richard P. Bailey, one of the founders of the PRA and former Research Director and a PRA Honorary Member.
  5. “Dorothy P. Keiser Documents” - Documents regarding Pennington genealogy. Includes information on Samuel Pennington, Nathan Pennington, John Pennington, John Pennington, Lewis Walker Pennington, and Theodore Mills Pennington.
  6. “Edward Pennington Will” - Will of Edward Pennington of Sussex County. This will is a transcript of an original will.
  7. “Excerpts from Charles City County, Virginia, Court Orders, 1687-1695:  With a Fragment of a Court Order Book for the Year 1680: - Includes a variety of records from Charles City Virginia court orders and marriages.
  8. “Sussex County Virginia Will Book B” - Sussex County Virginia Will book B, with inventories and Accounts. This will book includes will of various Penningtons including John Pennington, Joshua Pennington, and Joseph Pennington. Also included is a chronological order of information on Virginia Penningtons. This is a typed transcript of the original.
  9. Six (6) Pennington Papers - Pennington Papers, being a series of biographical and bibliographical sketches of members of the Pennington Family, written by the Reverend Jasper Green Pennington of Ypsilanti, Michigan.
  10. Several other wills and state records.

These documents can be viewed on line or can be downloaded as a PDF which is searchable.
