Big News! PRA Digital Archives Now Available!

The PRA Digital Archives is now available!  This new resource will be a great help with your Pennington family research.  This great resource is available to current PRA Members only.

To access the PRA Digital Archives, you must first login to our primary website at www.PenningtonResearch.org and then go to:  http://www.penningtonresearch.org/PRA-Archives.

Thanks to the hard work of our Archivist, Melinda G. Pennington, the new PRA Digital Archives contains thousands of files and photos that were moved from the PRA’s Members-only website hosted by MyFamily.com which was officially on September 31, 2014.  In addition, hundreds of other files and photos were added from the PRA’s own collection.

You can search all of the files and photos because many of them have been “tagged”.  There is still much cleaning up and tagging to be done on documents and photos and that will all be done in the coming months.

Two quick hints:

  1. When searching for county and states.  Here is an example of a search phrase to use when searching for Barren Co., KY records:  Use BarrenCoKY.
  2. When searching for names some files can be searched.  For example, if you want to search for Sarah Pennington, use PenningtonSarah or SarahPennington depending on how the files were saved in their original format.

This database of documents and photos will be instrumental when adding source information to your research.  You can download the file/image as well as cite the source and then add it to your genealogy website or software or to the PRA’s MyHeritage Family Tree.

Please contact Melinda G. Pennington, PRA Archivist, if you find any duplicates in this collection and she will delete them.  Or if you have any digital material you would like to add to the PRA’s Digital Archives, please contact Melinda G. Pennington.
